The appointment of Advocate Bernard Mung'ata to lead the Council of General Wages marks a significant step toward ensuring the implementation of the 6% general wage increase in Kenya. Mung'ata's leadership has been instrumental in driving the swift decision to approve and gazette the wage adjustments, fulfilling the Kenya Kwanza (KK) government's promise to improve workers' welfare.

Mung'ata, a former Machakos senatorial candidate, brings his legal expertise and experience to the role, overseeing the General Wages Council alongside the Agricultural Wages Councils.
